OASIS Adult Day Program

REOPENING: Monday July 11, 2022

OASIS Adult Day Center is a licensed daytime care center for seniors in the early stages of dementia or Alzheimer’s. We are dedicated to creating an interesting and stimulating environment with social interaction in our senior day care center.

What is OASIS?

OASIS Adult Day Center is an innovative adult day care program for people in the early stages of dementia. Much like a coffee club, activity group or senior center, participants at the OASIS program can connect and create new friendships with other people on similar life journeys while being cared for in a licensed community care facility. OASIS encourages independence and living life to the fullest through engaging activities, purpose-filled service projects and laughter.  With a staff ratio of one staff for eight participants we provide a safe and secure environment for our participants to maintain an active social lifestyle.

Caregiver Support

OASIS provides caregivers with a peace of mind and much needed time to relieve stress and burnout while their loved one attends the program. Our program offers the opportunity for caregivers to continue to work while still providing care for their loved one in their home. Our goal is not only to provide supportive care for the participant, but also to support the caregiver through the challenges of caring for an aging loved one.

How to Explain OASIS Adult Day Care to Your Senior Loved One

You may find that your loved one is not initially convinced about the benefits of coming to OASIS. We have often found that if someone attends for a few weeks, they begin to greatly enjoy the benefits and look forward to their time in our adult day care center. Here are some tips to help you explain senior day care and explain OASIS to them:

  1. Fun, fellowship and good food! Highlight the social aspects and downplay the care aspects of the center. OASIS can be described as a senior center or a coffee club.
  2. Discuss the productive aspects of the center: volunteering, helping others and working on community service projects.
  3. Have the doctor suggest the use of the center and ask the doctor to write an order or prescription for the program.
